154 Years of Music & Culture in Central Massachusetts!
On this edition of Latin Jazz Now, your host Jim Benitez will chat with the director of the Latin Heartbeat Orchestra (LHO), William Mendoza, about LHO and their upcoming performances.
The Latin Heartbeat Orchestra (LHO) is an engaging Latin musical ensemble comprised of New England’s most seasoned and versatile musicians. The repertoire consists of a lively collection of Latin Music ranging from the 1970’s – present as well as original compositions and arrangements, all paying tribute to the legends that were instrumental in introducing what is currently known as SALSA.
Audiences delight in the exuberance of this orchestra, which exhibits extraordinary musicianship and showmanship, all while staying true to the musical interpretation of these sure-win classics. Crowds find themselves energized when they hear the musical blend and the contagious flavor of the LHO.
Over the past 8+ years the LHO has had the pleasure of playing at some of New England's premier venues, as well as the honor of representing the State of Connecticut at the 2006 National Puerto Rican Day Parade in New York City.
By popular demand, the LHO has had the distinct privilege of performing at the Connecticut Salsa Festival 5 years in a row as well as the Boston Salsa Congress – entertaining some of the world's best salsa dancers. They have also performed at the Water Fire Festival of Providence RI 4 years in a row.
