Though he has played as a soloist, with orchestras and ensembles in every configuration, Marsalis’ quintets have offered some of the most felicitous settings for his trumpet and imagination. The second Marsalis Quintet, featuring pianist Dan Nimmer, bassist Carlos Henriquez, sax man Walter Blanding and drummer Ali Jackson –joins the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra to revisit Marsalis enduring compositions.
