The Kevin Harris Project
NY based jazz pianist Kevin Harris plays a distinctive combination of traditional and contemporary music with the unmistakable influences of Thelonious Monk, Charlie Parker, J.S. Bach, Scott Joplin, and the folkloric rhythms of Cuba. Yes, you read that right! "Harris tiptoes & pirouettes across a relaxed set of ballads and lightly soulful grooves, he possesses a spare style and a gentle touch." - Jazz Times

Jim Porcella

Jazz vocalist Jim Porcella serves up the iconic tunes of Sinatra, the Rat Pack, and Duke Ellington and is just as much at ease with the retro-swing of Louis Prima, Cab Calloway and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. The ultimate entertainer, Jim delivers American Songbook greats and leaves you wanting more!

Jim Porcella has performed jazz for the last 30 years throughout New England, London, San Francisco, The Virgin Islands and Vancouver. During that time Jim has recorded seven critically acclaimed CDs. He will release  new CD "Dream Dancing with You "Featuring the Mike Renzi Quartet at Mechanics Hall Brown Bag on April 4th at noon.

"Jim lends real warmth to a ballad, taking a lyric seriously and sparks freshness into his upbeat repertoire. His scat singing is enviable and his delivery is right on the mark. A real pleasure to listen to.”  Rebecca Parris-jazz vocalist

Brown Bag Concerts started out as free organ recitals as a way for Mechanics Hall to thank the community for the dollars it donated to restore the Hall's world-famous Hook Organ. WICN realized that Mechanics Hall was getting great audiences and tried a noon time series of its own....another great success. The following year they decided to become partners...Mechanics Hall provides the stage, the staff, and the tech support including sound; WICN programs and books the talent and broadcasts the performances live on 90.5 FM and streaming at www.wicn.org. Mechanics Hall and WICN share promotional responsibilities.
