ALEA

Alea is the stage name of Maria Alejandra Jimenez, an artist whose unique style of music fuses jazz, Latin, African, and Colombian folk sounds. A native of Barrancas, Colombia, she grew up surrounded by local indigenous communities, folklore, and cultural events like the Barranquilla Carnival. Alea is bringing her 5-piece ensemble based at Berklee College of Music.

KEN CLARK ORGAN TRIO

Swinging, driving jazz and R&B. Clark is a three-time winner as New England Blues Society Keyboardist of the Year. Michelle Willson will emcee and add some vocals to Clark’s Hammond B3, Mike Mele on Guitar and Steve Chaggaris on Drums.

CHOROBOP
Eduardo Mercuri, mandolin/guitar; Flavio Lira, 7-string guitar/bass; and Anne ‘Nêgah’ Santos, percussion, created Chorobop in 2013. Born in different cities in Brazil, they found themselves sharing the same passion for the Choro genre. Their repertoire is based on the roots of Brazilian Choro, with a special twist of jazz, bebop and contemporary music. Original arrangements and different instrumental combinations make ChoroBop a unique sound experience.

NEC SYMPHONIC WINDS & CHAMBER SINGERS WITH NAVY BAND NORTHEAST

This annual holiday concert serves up the spirit of the season in a big way. Bill Drury and Erica Washburn from New England Conservatory conduct a broad repertoire and holiday cheer. The students will be joined by Navy Band Northeast, a 35-musician ensemble based on board NAVSTA Newport and one of 11 official U.S. Navy bands worldwide.

GREG ABATE QUARTET

Greg Abate is a quintessential jazz musician, a Grammy nominee, a brilliant saxophone player, a flutist, a composer, and an educator! Abate spends 150 days a year touring the globe. He has played with the Ray Charles Orchestra, Channel One, and the revived Artie Shaw Orchestra. Greg tours the U.S., Canada, and Europe.
