Listening to Teresa Ines music is traveling through flashes of rhythms and melodies, many of which this talented singer and composer has been characterized as an incessant exploration of a unique blend of rhythms and sounds of her native country. Shrewdly combining her advanced training, a creative musicality, and a great familiarity with Brazilian music, she uses Brazilian folk music and harmonious jazz to sculpt a music of sophistication and tenderness. Ines' voice is characterized as both soft and intense. She has also founded her own music group. The Teresa Ines Quintet. The group's repertoire includes music by Tom Jobim, Djavan, Chico Buarque, as well as a substantial repertoire of original compositions. Teresa Ines is an artist deeply embedded in the music of her native Brazil, which incorporates American and European musical elements in the creation of musical amalgations that are as exciting as they are engaging. The Teresa Ines Quintet has been heard repeatedly in the New England area clubs and festivals.
