Tonight on Inquiry we welcome back author JEREMY DAUBER. He is a professor of Jewish literature and American studies at Columbia University. Tonight to continue our conversation about his monumental cultural history: AMERICAN COMICS: A HISTORY. Comics bloom during the war years, but there was increasing parental concern about violence and sexual content. There were comic burnings. This time also saw the rise of legendary EC Comics. Eventually, there was the Comics Code and the rebellious Mad Magazine.
