Katrina Van Grouw & Peter Sis

October 6, 2019

“Natural selection is an irrepressible force,” writes tonight’s returning guest to Inquiry.  KATRINA VAN GROUW is an artist, natural historian, and writer. Her latest book UNNATURAL SELECTION is a stunning collection of her anatomical art combined with a scholarly yet very entertaining text about selective breeding, genetics, and evolution. If you own a breed of dog, cat, bird, or fish, you will want to listen to tonight’s interview and learn how “fanciers can fast forward evolution.” This is one of the best science books of the year as well as one of the best art books!

In this episode of Inquiry, we talk with PETER SíS, A Czech-born American illustrator, artist, and author of children’s books. An exhibition of his work, THE PICTURE BOOK ODYSSEYS OF PETER SíS, is on view at the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Amherst until October 27.
