Ruth Kassinger & Tyra Penn with Molly Flannery

August 19, 2019

You may think of algae as simply pond scum or the seaweed that washed up on the shore of your favorite beach. But algae has played a critical role in the history of the planet’s biosphere, is an important food around the world, and may help us create a truly green fuel. On this episode of Inquiry, our guest is RUTH KASSINGER, award-winning author of science and history books. We will be talking about her latest book: SLIME: HOW ALGAE CREATED US, PLAGUE US, AND JUST NIGHT SAVE US.

On this episode of Inquiry, we talk with TYRA PENN, visual artist and singer with Tyra Penn and her Army of Snakes. Joining her is pianist, music director, and recording artist MOLLY FLANNERY. Tyra’s latest project is inspired by John Crowley’s critically acclaimed novel Little, Big or the Fairies Parliament. There are shadowboxes. There will be singing and lots of music. It will be first performed at The Stomping Ground on August 31. Tune in and find out all about it.
