Sabine Hossenfelder: Lost in Math

August 23, 2018

On this episode of Inquiry, we talk with SABINE HOSSENFELDER. She is a research fellow at the Frankfurt Institute for Advanced Studies and author of the physics blog Backreaction. Her new book is a revealing assessment of what is amiss in some of the physics of today such as Superstring Theory or the concept of the Multiverse. Some of these concepts are untestable and for some,  physicists are guided by an odd quixotic search for theories that are “beautiful” Hossenfelder’s book is LOST IN MATH: HOW BEAUTY LEADS PHYSICS ASTRAY.
