January 31, 2021

Can we create a super-intelligent machine that has consciousness? How would we know if Artificial Intelligence is aware? What are the dangers of creating a machine consciousness? Tonight on Inquiry we talk with SUSAN SCHNEIDER. She is the NASA Baruch Blumberg Chair at the Library of Congress and the director of the AI, Mind and Society Group at the University of Connecticut. We will be discussing her new book: ARTIFICIAL YOU: AI AND THE FUTURE OF YOUR MIND.

Tonight on Inquiry we talk with JONATHAN HABER. He is an educational researcher, writer, and entrepreneur. We will be talking about his new book which concerns something we wish all of us could use more often: CRITICAL THINKING. This covers the long history and evolution of critical thinking, a working definition of critical thinking, and how it should be taught and evaluated in schools.
