Arts, sciences and humanities build healthier, more livable, vital communities. They are essential to a strong education system. They contribute enormously to our economy.

In an encore of The Business Beat, Steve D’Agostino interviews Joe Bush (shown, left), executive director, and Larry Genovesi (shown, right), chair, of Worcester CleanTech Incubator. They talk about helping “green” businesses transition from start-up to scale-up. This episode aired originally on January 14, 2018.
As a membership-based non-profit, Worcester CleanTech Incubator bills itself as “a place to design, build, and deploy products to market.” The Incubator’s stated focus is “to support the transition from start-up to scale-up.”
The Incubator is owned and operated by the Institute for Energy and Sustainability, which is a 501(c)3 charitable non-profit. Located in the Printers Building in downtown Worcester, the Incubator provides more than 10,000 square feet, consisting of private offices, co-working space, conference rooms, event space, and prototyping labs.
The Incubator also provides tools to develop, test and iterate product designs - with the facilities to assemble inventories for initial market penetration. And, the Incubator helps to build relationships with contract-manufacturing partners, to enable scalability.
