In an all-new The Business Beat, Steve D’Agostino interviews Mary Garcia, president of the Rotary Club of Nashoba Valley, and Donna Bulger, executive director of Clear Path for Veterans New England. They talk about the 2018 Dogs2Vets Fest on April 29 in Devens.

Mary Garcia and Donna Bulger encourage you to bring your dog, and join the Dogs2Vest Fest for a fun-filled, wagging-good time. The goal of the April 29 event at Devens is to raise enough funds to provide up to 10 service dogs to local veterans.

Veterans, military personnel, children under 12, and dogs will get in for free.Dogs attending the Dogs2Vets Fest must be on a leash that is no longer than six feet - and, they must have all up-to-date vaccinations.

Clear Path for Veterans New England, the Rotary Club of Nashoba Valley, and the Rotary Club of Ayer, Harvard, Devens & Shirley are working together to host this festival. For Massachusetts, this is a first-of-its-kind festival, which will celebrate the matching of veterans with service Dogs.

The Dogs2Vets program, fine-tuned at Clear Path for Veterans' center in New York state, involves the veteran in the canine-training process, working together with the trainer to achieve individual goals.

In the spirit of full disclosure, Steve is a member of the Nashoba Valley club, and do volunteer public-relations work for the Dogs2Vets Fest.
