In an encore of The Business Beat, Steve D’Agostino interviews Mary Garcia, immediate  past president of the Rotary Club of Nashoba Valley, and Donna Bulger, executive director of Clear Path for Veterans New England. They talk about the 2018 Dogs2Vets Fest, held on April 29 in Devens. This episode aired originally on April 22, 2018.

The goal of this year's inaugeral event was to raise funds to provide service dogs to local veterans. Clear Path for Veterans New England, the Rotary Club of Nashoba Valley, and the Rotary Club of Ayer, Shirley, Harvard & Devens worked together to host this festival. For Massachusetts, this was a first-of-its-kind festival, which celebrated the matching of veterans with service Dogs.

The Dogs2Vets program, fine-tuned at Clear Path for Veterans' center in New York state, involves the veteran in the canine-training process, working together with the trainer to achieve individual goals. In the spirit of full disclosure, Steve is a member of the Nashoba Valley club, and did volunteer public-relations work for the Dogs2Vets Fest.
