In an encore of "The Business Beat," Steve Jones-D'Agostino interviews Winnie Octave, co-founder and co-chair, and Deb Bolz, co-chair, of Worcester's Green Hill Neighborhood Association. This episode aired originally on July 21, 2018.

Since 2013, members of the Green Hill Neighborhood Association - particularly through members Winnie Octave and Deb Bolz – have been pressing -and working - with neighbors and city and state officials. Their mission: to arrest neighborhood decline - and to create a more sustaining environment for families and children.

Because of that activism and reciprocal support from neighbors and public officials, the story now being told is one of a renovated park that’s outfitted with a basketball court, an expanded community garden, a children’s play area, and picnic tables. The park renovation has created an expanding wave of other quality-of-life improvements. And, streets have been paved, and stronger relationships have been established with Worcester’s Police and Public Works departments.

In the spirit of full disclosure, Steve does volunteer public-relations work for the Association.
